 Command Seargent Major Jesse Guitierrez

"Onward and Upward for Humanity...SO SAY WE ALL!"

All Marines aboard the Aries will memorize the Basic General Orders For Enlisted Personnel:

To take charge of this post and all CDF property in view.

To walk my post in a military manner, keeping always on the alert and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.

To report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce.

To repeat all calls from posts more distant from the guardhouse than my own.  IE: in the event of a COMM breakdown, all orders must be yelled or verbally given to the next sentry no matter the distance from the next post and so on...until the entire unit knows the same order issued.

To quit my post only when properly relieved.

To receive, obey and pass on to the sentry who relieves me all orders from the Executive Officer, Detachment commander, and officers, both commissioned and non-commissioned, of the guard only.

To talk to no one except in the line of duty.

To give the alarm in case of fire or disorder.

To call the MarDet Commander or the XO in any case not covered by instructions.

To salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.

To be especially watchful at all times, especially wartime, and to challenge all persons on or near my post and to allow no one to pass without proper authority.

Expectations:

As the MarDet commander I feel it necessary to spell a few things out.  You will not only follow the general orders, you will do so and maintain a high level of professionalism. Be responsible, or you'll end up in hack (and I don't mean guarding another prisoner).  Do not show up for duty unfit to serve.  There is an eight-hour between bottles and boots rule.  Alcohol and automatic weapons do not mix.

Be respectful.  This is not an option.  Treat all officers and other enlisted personnel with the same amount of respect that you feel that you deserve.  Handle personal differences outside duty time.

And finally, and likely most importantly, be vigilant in all that you do.   Keep your eyes and ears open.   The toasters walk among us, therefore we must maintain a high level of surveillance at every post.  They may not be human, but if we strike first, they damn sure bleed the same.

You will also complete all required forms and paperwork at or before the conclusion of your shift.

SpecOps:

Special Operations teams are highly trained Marines that are capable of executing a strike or recovery mission on very short notice, or can plan and execute a lengthy and very detailed operation given our needs and current situation.  Each team will consist of six to eight members.  There will be a first strike team that will lead ground assaults and board other ships.  There will be a counter-terror team who will keep our ship from being boarded and ensure the safety of key personnel.  There will be a hostage and recovery team.  While each of these teams performs a different task, there are similarities in the men and women who perform them.  SpecOps members must be fearless, agile, intelligent, and extremely proficient in their skills. Marines chosen for SpecOps will still work regular rotations at every position, and should your expertise be needed immediately, there will be a backup team to take your post.

Training Materials:

The senior staff and I are working on several different training protocols and documents that will eventually be posted here.   As of now, the plans to have an official CDF Colonial Marines training manual are in place.   The information is now available for download on this page.  In the works now are brig detail, hostage situations, and basic life support for military members.
