PO Box 39295, San Antonio, TX 78218

Members/ Friends of Battlestar Aries will be participating at the El Louise Project.  What is Else Louise you say?

The Elf Louise Christmas Project is dedicated to providing a little bit of joy to Bexar County's less fortunate children. Get into the spirit of Christmas! Join Elf Louise volunteers in spreading joy throughout San Antonio!

The current day Elf Louise Christmas Project has evolved into a community-based 100% volunteer organization. The Project is run by a Board of Directors and Core Volunteers. These individuals work year-round to ensure the project will continue into the future indefinitely. We have over 4,500 volunteers wrap gifts and deliver toys during the Christmas season.

The project began in 1969 when our founder, Louise Locker, was a student at Trinity University in San Antonio. She found that for many San Antonio families, Christmas just did not exist. Louise began to look for a way to provide a few Christmas presents to some of these children. That first year, with the help of a friend, she collected gifts for children in 13 families.

In 2010, more than 5,600 Elf Louise volunteers wrapped and delivered presents to 19,000 children in 5,800 families! The atmosphere happy, busy and Christmassy! One of the most unique aspects of Elf Louise is that we take those gifts and have Santa Claus and his/her helpers deliver the gifts personally to the children. It is probably one of the most joyful experiences you and your family and/or friends can have - to bring joy to a child at Christmas!

Individuals and groups can volunteer to wrap toys, stock shelves, and deliver toys. Click on one of the above tabs to read more about wrapping and delivering toys and how you can volunteer.

2011 ELF LOUISE WORKSHOP LOCATION: 1401 SW Loop 410, Suite 111 - the old Montgomery Ward store at Loop 410 South and Marbach Road in the same building occupied by Beall's.

Although, many of our volunteers desire the opportunity to wrap or deliver toys, there are many more opportunities available. If you are interested in a more in-depth or long term volunteer commitment, we need volunteers for Data Entry, Computer List Auditing, Toy Stockers, Wrap Room Supervisors and Greeters, Warehouse Help and Santa Dressing Assistants. We also have core volunteers that work year-round to ensure the Elf Louise Christmas Project is a success each and every year.
